Ⅰ. Purpose of Saponification Treatment
The purpose of soaking soap is to make the phosphate film attached to the surface of the steel material adsorb soap to form a so-called zinc soap film with low friction coefficient and good wear resistance, which plays a good lubricating role during the drawing process. Practice has proven that the phosphating film on the surface of steel can firmly adsorb lubricating soap solution, ensuring a continuous supply of lubrication during the drawing process. Additionally, zinc soap itself has good plasticity and can undergo plastic deformation along with the steel material; Moreover, it can maintain chemical stability at the deformation temperature during drawing, thus providing good lubrication. Therefore, phosphating saponification treatment is currently an excellent and widely used lubrication method in the production of cold drawn steel.
